Aromatic plants are basically used for cooking, while officinal herbs, which have curative healthy properties, are mainly used in herbalist shops and in medicine. The name “aromatic” refers to plants that contain substances enhancing pleasant odours: the aromas. In cookery aromatic herbs are unique and irreplaceable spices used to flavour foods or for long term food storage.
Moreover they are very ornamental, that is the reason why they are often used to garnish gardens or balconies in a decorative but functional way.
